🇬🇧 Hello! Hope you’re all doing great (: Today I’m here with a novel from German Literature.

Today’s review will be about the novel The Club of the Book Fairies, by the German author Thomas Montasser.
It was published this year just last month in April, so it’s pretty recent, and I picked it up for a collaboration between Feltrinelli and my Instagram page @thegalaxybooks (:
The story is set in Germany and revolves around the figure of Victor Iordanescu, a Romanian guy that left his country to find a better life. He works as a courier and everyday he has to deliver different objects to people, from mattresses to lingerie, from appliances to books.
And that’s where our story begins. During his deliveries, Victor delights himself wondering the habits of the people who receive the objects, especially a woman, Mrs Martini, to whom he delivers lots of books.
He was never an avid reader himself, actually quite the contrary, but he was always fascinated by the arts, especially music, since he is a composer.
He wants to encounter this mysterious lady, but how can he interact with her without even knowing her?
That’s where books come in handy.
So Victor decides to enter in a local bookstore “The Books’ Fairy”, where the owner suggests him a book to break the ice.
It’s the first step to a world full of surprises. From book to book, varying from classics to the most recent bestsellers, Victor will meet a dog named Venerdì, a know-it-all kid Leon, a twelve years old blabbing girl and an active book club. And while is van gets full of people attracted by the “bibliobus”, Victor finds out how literature is not boring, but the opposite. It can entertain, provoke and even unite.
There is a book for each one of us, even for who doesn’t know it yet.
“What a book transmit doesn’t depend on what’s written inside.
Ah no?
It depends on who reads it.”
As I said above, I’ve picked it up because of a collaboration and I’m actually glad I opted for this little one. I thank Feltrinelli for the opportunity they gave me and I hope to receive other collaborations in the future (:
It was such a cute book, so light to read. It was an ode to books, literature, music and dogs 🥰
I felt touched by some parts, especially during that book club meeting or the story of Venerdì and Leon (poor kid).
The idea of a bibliobus was amazing, it would have been wonderful if it existed in my town too. And that little bookshop! It would be a dream to open it.
The fact that Mrs Martini recommended Victor “If on a Winter’s Night a Traveler” by Italo Calvino was absolutely icing on the cake. Such a good book!
It’s a 5/5 recommendation if you want to have a light-hearted read that feel like a warm hug after a bad day!

La recensione di oggi riguarderà il romanzo Il Club delle Fate dei Libri, dell’autore tedesco Thomas Montasser.
È stato pubblicato quest’anno proprio il mese scorso ad aprile, quindi è piuttosto recente, e l’ho preso per una collaborazione tra Feltrinelli e la mia pagina Instagram @thegalaxybooks (:
La storia è ambientata in Germania e ruota attorno alla figura di Victor Iordanescu, un ragazzo rumeno che ha lasciato il suo paese per trovare una vita migliore. Lavora come corriere e ogni giorno deve consegnare alle persone oggetti diversi, dai materassi alla lingerie, dagli elettrodomestici ai libri.
Ed è qui che inizia la nostra storia. Durante le sue consegne, Victor si diletta a interrogarsi sulle abitudini delle persone che ricevono gli oggetti, in particolare su una donna, la signora Martini, alla quale consegna moltissimi libri.
Lui stesso non è mai stato un avido lettore, anzi, tuttavia è sempre stato affascinato dalle arti, in particolare dalla musica, essendo un compositore.
Vuole incontrare questa misteriosa signora, ma come può interagire con lei senza nemmeno conoscerla?
Ecco dove i libri entrano in gioco.
Così Victor decide di entrare in una libreria locale “La fata dei libri”, dove la proprietaria gli suggerisce un libro per rompere il ghiaccio.
È il primo passo verso un mondo pieno di sorprese. Di libro in libro, passando dai classici ai più recenti bestseller, Victor incontrerà un cane di nome Venerdì, un ragazzino saccente Leon, una ragazzina chiacchierona di dodici anni e un attivo club del libro. E mentre il suo furgone si riempie di gente attratta dal “bibliobus”, Victor scopre come la letteratura non sia noiosa, ma il contrario. Può intrattenere, provocare e persino unire.
C’è un libro per ognuno di noi, anche per chi ancora non lo conosce.
“Quello che trasmette un libro non dipende da quello che c’è scritto dentro.
Ah no?
Dipende da chi lo legge”.
Come ho detto sopra, l’ho scelto grazie a una collaborazione e sono davvero contenta di aver optato per questo piccoletto. Ringrazio Feltrinelli per l’opportunità datami e spero di ricevere altre collaborazioni in futuro (:
E’ un libro così carino, così leggero da leggere. Un inno ai libri, alla letteratura, alla musica e ai cani 🥰
Mi sono emozionata in alcune parti, specialmente durante quella riunione del club del libro o la storia di Venerdì e Leon (poverino).
L’idea di un bibliobus è stata fantastica, sarebbe bello se esistesse anche nel mio paese. E quella piccola libreria! Sarebbe un sogno aprirla.
Il fatto che la signora Martini abbia consigliato a Victor “Se una Notte d’Inverno un Viaggiatore” di Italo Calvino è stata assolutamente la ciliegina sulla torta. E’ proprio un bel libro!
Lo raccomando 5/5, se sei in vena di una lettura leggera che sembri come un caldo abbraccio dopo una brutta giornata!
